Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP / PMHCNS) - Fairview Counseling Center - North Region

Job Description

Fairview Counseling Services provide outpatient psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults and seniors in a variety of locations in the metropolitan and surrounding area. We offer specialized services to suit each person's culture, gender and special treatment needs. Individualized services include culturally-relevant patient education and connections with community-based support and advocacy groups.

Fairview Health Services seeks 1 Board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Specialist for the Fairview Counseling Centers. In this role, the NP/CNS will provide services for the Fairview Health Services system – North Region in the Milaca, Princeton, Rogers, MN service area. We are advancing a new model of care in our psychiatry services using a Collaborative Care Psychiatry model. This care delivery model employs psychiatry in a largely consultative role supporting our Fairview primary care services.

In this role, the NP/CNS will:

  • See patients for a diagnostic evaluation, documents findings and recommendations for medications and returns the patient to the referring PCP for ongoing medication management.  .
  • Manage a percentage of referred patients for more ongoing care due to instability or complexity.
  • Provide consultation via EPIC in-basket to our PCPs.
  • Office within the Fairview Clinics – Rogers and/or Princeton location.

Position Qualifications:

A qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist training program. Have a current MN RN license and be approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges. Be certified through ANCC and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.

A qualified candidate must have at least 2 years of practice experience in the Psychiatric outpatient setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Interest in seeing pediatric and adult patients. ANCC Psychiatric-Mental Health certification preferred.
