Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner PMHNP / PMHCNS - Inpatient Adult Psychiatry at University of Minnesota Medical Center

Job Description

The University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview is seeking an advanced practice provider with experience and/or strong interest in providing general inpatient psychiatry care to adult patients. Join a seasoned team of psychiatrists in providing care on three general adult inpatient units, as well as assistance and cross-coverage on a geriatric unit, dual diagnosis unit, and a chem/dep/detox unit. In this collaborative practice model, you will be actively involved in all patient care including inpatient intakes, follow-ups, and discharge management as well as medication management. You will have the opportunity to see your own patients with physician oversight as needed and required. This position will involve night call on a rotating basis with physician back-up. This is a full-time position, working 5 days/week.

** Requires ANCC Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification or ANNC Clincal Nurse Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health certification.

Practice Information

The team on inpatient (hospitalist) psychiatrists work collaboratively to manage patients within the acute setting. An average census for each psychiatrist is approximately 15 patients.
